Market on the Market Place

During the 3 summer months from 7th June to 13th September, the Place du Marché comes alive and produces wonderful aromas of grilled chicken, buttered potatoes, melons, strawberries and many other seasonal products on Sunday mornings from 8 am to 1 pm.

Numerous stall holders set up in the market place to offer you lots of ways to treat yourself during your holidays as well as an enjoyable stroll.

Market on the Place de l’Eglise

Every Thursday morning from 8 am to 1 pm from 2nd July to 27th August, you will find this food market with a few stalls selling seasonal produce. The rest of the year – on Sunday from 20th September to 31st May, there are also a few non-food products which are added to the weekly offering.

Farmers market

This little market, which takes place next to the Tourist Office, brings together around 15 local producers in a friendly and musical atmosphere.

Come and have a look around each Tuesday from 9 am to 12 pm from 30th June to 2nd September and while you listen to the musicians, fill your baskets with fruits, vegetables, honey, meat, wines, beers, cheeses, salt and seafood from those who produce them.

Why not have a little dance or chat with the farmers before going home to try the local oysters? Or perhaps you will be tempted to stay and eat at one of the street-food trucks there where you can choose one of the wonderful treats to eat ‘lunch on the move’.

Evening craft market

Every Tuesday evening from 7 pm to 11 pm from 7th July to 25th August, the Avenue de la Mer in Notre Dame de Monts becomes a pedestrian zone to welcome craftsmen and visitors in complete security and in a cosy atmosphere.

This little evening walk is a perfect opportunity to bring back a quality souvenir from your holiday made by a local Vendéen artisan: jewellery, pottery, paintings, leather goods and items that can be personalised.

If you get a little peckish or fancy something delicious to eat, there are lots of different restaurants to choose from in Avenue de la Mer.
