The Marais Breton Vendéen knows no communal boundaries. It covers more than 36,000 hectares, involves 18 communes and straddles 2 départements. This wetland promises to amaze you with its extraordinary biodiversity. The route takes you along cycle paths in the heart of the countryside, offering superb panoramic views over the marshes, as well as small roads leading to the charming market towns of Le Perrier and Sallertaine.
Of course, the Marais Breton Vendéen is more than just a peaceful, unspoilt environment. It’s also home to men and women steeped in a particular culture, that of market gardening. You’ll get a taste of it as you pedal along… All year round, and particularly in July and August, you can admire the skills of the craftsmen and women of Sallertaine, a land of artists, who open their doors to you every summer.
