There is a generously built female bather in bronze sculpted by the Challandais sculptor Henry Murail who appears to watch over the beach. It is as if this beach reflects the warmth and kindness of its guardian. This sculpture is at the end of Avenue de la Mer which is the pedestrian shopping area for the Saint Jean de Monts seaside district. It’s here of course, that you come for your holiday treats which you can buy from one of the many shops just a few feet away from the beach.
The beach is supervised by lifeguards from 15th June to 13th September from 11.00am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 7.00pm.
Lifeguards are on call between 12.30pm – 2.30pm in July and August.
Dogs are allowed from 1st October to 30th April on a lead.
