Discover what nature has to hide at Notre Dame de Monts.

Biotopia is the only site of its kind in the Vendée, offering a fun, interactive and educational way to learn about the environment. From the forest to the ocean, via the dunes and the foreshore, in the heart of a preserved and wild environment, Biotopia opens the doors to the visible and the invisible and answers all your questions about biodiversity.

You can also enjoy guided walks, workshops, evening events, treasure hunts and other events throughout the year!

An interactive exhibition to awaken the senses
Listen, look, smell, touch: be amazed! Visit an exhibition accessible to all, created by a dedicated scientific committee. Explore the ocean, the dune and the forest, look for treasures on the beach, observe the plankton, discover the secrets of the pond, learn about the evolution of the coastline, vote for your favourite species, shrink down to the level of an insect…

Nagomi and the benefits of the forest (outdoor trail)
On your own with a tablet, head off into the forest for a 1? hour interactive walk with your family or friends and discover all the hidden benefits of the forest. Like a collaborative game, join forces to revitalise Nagomi, a virtual character, by earning points along the way.
In partnership with Biotopia Japan, cross virtual portals to Japanese forests and compare them with the Pays de Monts forest!
On this 1.8 km route, play, explore and discover how nature is beneficial, rejuvenating and inspiring!

Biotopia turns 10 in 2025!
We’ve got lots of new things coming up to celebrate this anniversary with you: investigations in the forest, nocturnes, observation points on the beach…

Take advantage of a unique experience, included in the entrance ticket, in partnership with Les Escapades de Marius, to discover Biotopia and its arboretum in an original and fun way!

On 10 and 11 May 2025, join us for a festive weekend of discovery and biodiversity. It’s a unique opportunity to (re)discover the wonders, both large and small, that nature has in store for us.

How do I get to Biotopia? You’re spoilt for choice: on foot, by bike or by car. The site is located just outside the town centre, on the edge of the pine forest, at the crossroads of footpaths and cycle paths. It has also been awarded the Accueil Vélo label and is a base for trail and Nordic walking enthusiasts. There’s no better way to learn about nature than by walking it!

The site is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible. It has been awarded the Tourisme & Handicap mark and is involved in the “Welcome” network, which aims to improve the welcome given to foreign visitors.
