Your itinerary
Step 1: Le Daviaud
Le Daviaud invites you to discover the history of the marsh here, to learn a little more about its inhabitants and the culture that reigns there. All in all, this site is the logical follow-up to your walk along the Le Daviaud trail, so you can push open another door to the Marais Breton Vendéen and continue your adventure in this poetic, bucolic environment!
Step 2: Eau douce ou eau salée ?
The first salt farmers designed a network of canals to allow seawater to flow into the salt marshes. Only salt-loving plants, such as glasswort, thrive on the banks of the ditches irrigated with salt water. Saltwort has a tender green branch that turns red at the end of the season. It is eaten when green.
