Event description
To prepare the public for the celebrations, the Paralympic flame will arrive in France on 25 August 2024 for 4 days of high-intensity relays in around fifty French towns, including La Roche-sur-Yon!
The flame will arrive in La Roche-sur-Yon on 25 August, the very first day of the relay in France, when the 12 flames will be lit simultaneously on the outskirts of the country. A route and activities will be organised in the town during the relay day, a festive and convivial event that will bring the people of Yonn together in a unique historic moment.
2pm: Opening of the Paralympic Flame Festival village
2pm – 3.15pm: Musical entertainment by Atomic Brass Band, show by the Barjots Dunkers (acrobatic basketball), La Boulisterie participative entertainment (ephemeral petanque courts)
3.30pm: Lighting of the Torch – start of the first relay runner
3.45pm: Shows put on by BPCE
From 5pm: Arrival of the last relay runner – lighting of the cauldron
6pm: Sula Bula dance demonstration
6.30pm: Concert – La belle famille – a wide-ranging repertoire featuring the greatest hits alongside the latest musical trends in a 100% live performance.
