Playing the role of a conductor who finds himself in an unprecedented situation, Fred Radix offers an interactive show in which the audience plays a key role. He tells the story of a crazy saga that evokes a musical instrument that is never talked about, yet played by everyone: the clapper.

A show by Fred Radix .1895 in a Paris theatre. Auguste Levasseur, head of the claque, directs a troupe of accomplices who, mingling with the audience, are responsible for applauding at opportune moments. An applauded play is a successful play, but with two hours to go before a big premiere, Auguste is abandoned by his claque. So he asked Fauvette, a musician from
L’orchestre, and Dugommier, the theatre manager, to find replacements to save the evening’s performance.
With only an hour and a half to go before the opening night, the novice clappers had to rehearse and perform extracts from the show, which comprised no less than five acts, forty musicians and thirty set changes!
It’s an arduous task, but there are only three of them, and tonight their careers are down to a slap in the face!
