Spectacle La forêt millénaire – Waï Waï

A hybrid show, this comic-book concert is a veritable visual and aural exploration, a journey into the poetic world of the famous mangaka Jirô Taniguchi.

Following his parents’ divorce and his mother’s illness, Wataru is taken in by his grandparents. For the young boy from Tokyo, this new life in the countryside is an upheaval. He discovered his new school and his new environment. The forest in particular impressed him and seemed to impart an almost supernatural force, coming from the depths of time.

In keeping with the author’s pared-down drawings and fine watercolour work, the group Waï Waï composes the perfect soundtrack to accompany this ecological fable.
