About us
Leather, clay, glass, wood, textiles, metal, painting… Sallertaine, the inspiration of many creators, is the only village in the Vendée to have been awarded the "Ville et Métiers d'Art" label.
From 15 June to 15 September, 25 craftspeople will be opening the doors of their workshops/boutiques to share their skills and materials. 11 artisans are open all year round and can welcome you out of season, see the website for more information.
L’Île aux Artisans events :
– Les Essentielles 2024: Archipelago (from 1 June to 30 September): a stroll through artistic lands
– Gourmet Fridays: local producers’ market
– Concert evening on 31 July
– Fire Night on the 3rd Monday in August
– Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights): a magical weekend of artisans, street art, lighting and a gourmet market (November)
– UnisSons : A festive evening of concerts and a giant table (last Monday in July)
– Gift time: Christmas at the craftsmen’s (15 days in December)
