VISITE COMMENTÉE DE L'EXPOSITION "IL DOIT FAIRE NUIT COMME ICI"
CYEL 10 rue Salvador Allende 85000 LA ROCHE-SUR-YON
Event description
From 2 December 2023 to 2 March 2024.
Guided tour of the exhibition “Il doit faire nuit comme ici” (It must be dark like here)
“There are two kinds of photographs. Those that give you the sensation of seeing, of suddenly seeing. It’s as if you’ve been walking around with your eyes closed all this time without realising it. And there are those that give you the desire to see beyond. In both cases, seeing is an intoxication. Seeing gives you the impression of being in the right place at the right time. Or perhaps in the wrong place at the wrong time? There’s an anxiety that creeps in, first in the eye, then – and this is the hallmark of great images – from the eye to the brain, from the eye to the heart. We are then bathed in an anxiety that has no object, because there is nothing in the image to confirm or deny it. Nothing other than the fact of having seen it, this image. Simply seen.” Jakuta Alikavazovic, “Where does the light come from?”, 2023.
Tuesday to Saturday, 1 pm to 6 pm
Closed Sunday and Monday
Guided tours at 2pm (1 hour, general public):
– Saturday 13 January: visit in the presence of the artist (places limited, by prior arrangement)
