Born in Fontenay in February 1924, Popp led ¨his career as a great musician in Paris. Organist, composer, conductor,
arranger. His musical output excelled in all genres.
The very young André POPP (aged 17) was spotted, encouraged and supported by Olivier MESSIAN. His creation
“Piccolo saxo et Compagnie” is famous.
As eminent in classical music as he was in film music, he was a pioneer of the RTF, whose legendary theme music for the games
legendary theme music for the games Des chiffres et des lettres and La tête et les jambes are timeless hallmarks.
