Spectacle – Ce qu'il faut de terre à l'homme
The Sunday 27 October at 16 a.m00
Le Daviaud 85550 LA BARRE-DE-MONTS
Event description
The story tells of one man's quest for new lands, even if it means abandoning the values on which his community is based.
The action takes place at the end of the 19th century. Pakhom, a muzhik (Russian peasant), is becoming less and less satisfied with his condition as a peasant. He dreams of becoming a landowner and growing wheat on his own land.
Increasingly unstable, he goes so far as to defy the devil.
The devil sees an opportunity to take a man and corrupt a community at the same time. He then sets traps for him, revealing man’s fragility (greed, jealousy, self-centredness).
Finally, he comes across the starshina, the chief of a nomadic people (the Bashkirs), who offers him a strange deal: to become the owner of the land he will walk around in a day.
This last race will reveal to Pakhom the very nature of his relationship with the land.
Show for all audiences. Ages 7 and up.
Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes
