Event description
Kamishibai parents/children workshop from 2pm to 4pm (from 7 years) :
The idea of a Kamishibai workshop was born from the comic strip and the show “Un Océan d’Amour”. Kamishibai or “picture theatre” literally means “paper theatre game”. It is a storytelling technique of Japanese origin, based on images scrolling in a small theatre with two or three doors: the “Butai”. The workshop covers everything from creating the theatre to putting it into operation. There’s plenty of room for play and imagination, and plenty of scope for exploration. After all, this little theatre is full of surprises. It’s an invitation to discover the techniques and means of artistic and graphic expression, to awaken curiosity and to explore the principle of theatrical adaptation.
SHOW MOVED TO THE SALLE DES FÊTES :
Show by La Salamandre “Un océan d’amour” at 6.30pm.
Running time 50 minutes, ages 7 and up.
Based on the comic strip by Wilfrid Lupano and Grégory Panaccione. Object theatre and a world of paper.
Two grey-coated clerks from some bureaucracy shape paper boats all day long. At the turn of a page, they plunge into an offbeat universe where paper in all its forms gives free rein to their imagination. These two grown-up children take us on a burlesque adventure set off the coast of Brittany. Every morning, Mister goes fishing, but on this particular day, he is the one caught by a frightening factory boat. Meanwhile, his wife waits. Convinced that her man is alive, she sets out to find him, and this is the start of a perilous cross-ocean chase. A silent story with lots of seagulls.
