POMME + NINA VERSYP
QUAI M 94 Boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc 85000 LA ROCHE-SUR-YON
Event description
APPLE :
Co-produced with artist Flavien Berger, this album is not about “what’s wrong”, but rather about “what feels good”.
The album was initially conceived as a piano-vocals album, to which synthetic and electronic tones were later added. As if to a phantom member, Pomme vocodes a declaration of longing to the singer Barbara in “B.” and imagines herself alongside the Japanese heroine Chihiro in “La rivière”. Reminding a friend who no longer believes in life of its beauty in “septembre”, or consoling the spirit of a writer in “Nelly”, the singer wanders between the women who adorn her life. She also visits the little girl she used to be in “jardin” and “dans mes rêves”.
Consolation has become a central theme, in that it “led me to these stories of women that touched me, in which there is a lot of tragedy, sadness and injustice. But it’s also a childhood concept.
A work of convoluted charm, Consolation is a joy that necessarily comes from sorrow, and from its beautiful ashes, Pomme is reborn.
NINA VERSYP :
Nina Versyp is only 23 years old and already her music, a dreamy, poisonous pop-folk, is escaping from the ordinary. Her melodic clarity is catchy, effective but not smooth. Her clear timbre, which imposes its physical presence. Her phantasmagorical outbursts intrigue. Worrying, at times, with her incandescent pain. But she always attracts, drawing her listeners into the irresistible whirlwind of urgent, violent, burning feelings.
On stage, Nina Versyp performs without artifice, electric guitar-voice, and delivers, in their rawest form, the dozen or so songs she composed in her bedroom. At the same time, she gathers around her a group of producers with whom she can experiment, dare, and venture down her own path, without reference or model.
She worked with them to create this first EP, “Paralysed” (February 2024), which was produced without any restrictions or preconceived ideas. Expressing the essential is often as difficult as it is necessary. Nina Versyp manages to do just that in her music, turning her vulnerability into strength.
