Its philosophy is to get as many people as possible interested in choral music, whether they are singers or listeners. Its repertoire can be adapted to suit concert proposals, ranging from the classical repertoire to world music and French chanson.
3.30pm – Chœur d’Exil – Atrium Nord
Chœur d’Exil is a choir dedicated to singing about exile, culture and foreign languages. Its aim is to share the language of others and encourage exchange and diversity. The choir performs songs in foreign languages: Kabyle, Persian, Yiddish, Scottish, Ukrainian, Arabic, Slovakian, Chinese and Russian…
4.30pm – Roland de Lassus Choir – Cyel Auditorium
Founded in 1972 and co-directed by Dominique Labrousse and Gérard Llabrès, the Roland de Lassus Choir is made up of some forty choristers from the Yonnais region and the Vendée. Accompanied by professional musicians and soloists, the choir offers concerts in which the repertoire explores all eras, with a particular focus on the baroque and classical periods.
8pm – Empreinte Gospel – Auditorium du Cyel
Directed by young conductor Damien Langlois, who is also the group’s artistic director, Empreinte Gospel is a mixed choir made up of some sixty singers divided into 4 sections – soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Its gospel-focused repertoire ranges from the most classic pieces (Oh Happy Day, When the Saints, etc.) to more contemporary works (songs by Kirk Franklin, Richard Smallwood and Hezekiah Walker), as well as including a few negro spirituals.
