Jalen Ngonda :
A fan of the pioneers of soul, Jalen Ngonda has developed a rich, nuanced voice that sets him apart from other artists. But despite his attachment to the roots of soul music, his music is resolutely modern and fresh. In composing his songs, he draws inspiration from everything around him and from everyday life in general. “To an outsider, I’d say my music is soul/R&B, while trying to insert the Beach Boys and Beatles somewhere.” Having recently joined the powerful Daptone Records stable, Jalen Ngonda unveiled her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Come Around and Love Me’, in September 2023.

New kid on the block in Liverpool, draws inspiration from the soul greats of the 60s and 70s as well as modern R&B and jazz, evoking a sound that is both contemporary and timeless. His deeply soulful and distinctive voice takes you straight back to a smoky speak easy, while bringing a fresh and innovative sound.
To kick off the New Year, MT Jones will release her next single ‘Made Up Your Mind’ on 11 January. It’s a classic and powerful example of her authentic songwriting, showcasing her distinctive voice and telling a story of ineffable sadness and grief.
He says of the song: “It’s a song about losing someone, and the despair of knowing it will never be the same again. I wanted to try and capture the emptiness of that phase of uncertainty you often find yourself in when a situation that used to mean so much changes”.
