FRED WESLEY GENERATIONS TRIO :
Generations is an evolving trio featuring Fred Wesley on trombone, Leonardo Corradi on organ and French drummer Tony Match. These three musicians originally got together to pay tribute to the soulful jazz of the legendary Jimmy Smith. Today, they have found harmony and continue to play together.
Their show combines Wesley’s talent and experience, Corradi’s energetic reflection on Smith and other historic jazz giants, and Match’s jazz drumming tinged with unique influences from African rhythms and electronic sounds.
SOPHYE SOLIVEAU :
Sophye Soliveau is a singer, harpist and choral conductor. Her love of Afro-American music, from R’n’B to soul and gospel, took root when she was a child, and she honed her skills through classical training. Her first album, INITIATION, is the result of the diversion that feeds her improvisations, the search for healing and the learning of freedom. A spirited celebration of voluptuous R’n’B.
INITIATION is characterised by its pure orchestration. Sophye’s vocal chords and those of her harp unite and soar against a backdrop of ethereal backing vocals and a bass-drums rhythm with a precious, subtle groove that magnifies an original repertoire with deeply soulful inspirations.
