FOLLY GROUP :
On stage, Folly Group is a group that brings together drums, percussion, bass, guitar, vocals and a sampler. Elsewhere, Folly Group is an amorphous creative entity, encompassing a group of friends whose practice spans a variety of disciplines. Its members have all played with each other in various projects over the last three years, and Folly Group is now a way of grappling with form, structure and signifiers. Folly Group attempts to interrogate the work of the group; it is an allergic reaction to stasis and complacency.
COURTING :
At the dawn of their existence, Courting wrote and rehearsed their songs in the basement of a city restaurant, finding inspiration in the creative melting pot of Merseyside. The band’s musical influences, drawn from the likes of Parquet Courts, Pavement and LCD Soundsystem, inspire their music but don’t stop them retaining a resolutely British identity and fuelling the revival of beloved Britpop.
Observing their surroundings with an audible sense of horror, the band members describe their mental journey with a disjointed but always relevant tone of disquiet. Having supported the likes of Sports Team, FEET and Heavy Lungs, Courting already find themselves adored by an army of local fans, and display a fierce and witty determination to conquer this burgeoning music scene.
