Fictitious start quai Poey d’Avant. Actual departure 17 rue de Pilorge.
The Marais Poitevin regional park will be the backdrop for the first laps of the second edition of the Pays de la Loire Tour. A third of the way through the stage, the peloton from Fontenay-le-Comte will reach the coast at L’Aiguillon-la-presqu’île. Before heading north to Jard-sur-Mer, east of Les Sables-d’Olonne, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and the finish at Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Watch out for the ocean breeze on this tricky first stage, 100% Vendée, the longest of the Tour (208 km).
