De la Terre… à la mer
CYEL 10 Rue Salvador Allende 85000 LA ROCHE-SUR-YON
Event description
"How could we meet the demands of the two towns and evoke the land and sea in music? The "Animals of Place Napoléon" provided part of the solution by serving as a link between the two poles. Using the words suggested by students from the two Conservatoires, I imagined the text of a slightly fantastic tale in which the animals one day decide to "go and see the country". And so it is, with a joyful fanfare, full of energy and colour, that the said animals (Sacred Ibis, Nile Perch…) set off one day, leaving their freshwater pond to sample the joys of salt water… Would the grass be better in the next field? They meet the animals of the sea and visit new places, but after a while it becomes clear that they are homesick… and the story ends with these words:
Let’s keep going together
To visit our beautiful region
Together, hand in hand
Let’s go further and further!
The “De la Terre… à la Mer” project was the brainchild of the Conservatoires de La Roche-sur-Yon and Les Sables-d’Olonne. The clarinet, double bass and percussion teachers from the two establishments wanted to pool their energies around two concerts for their 65 students. So they asked clarinettist and composer Alexis Ciesla from Lyon to organise a concert based on his music, and to commission him to write a piece for the occasion.
Free, subject to availability and presentation of a valid ticket,
