"CRITIQUE D' ART MALGRÉ LUI"

Arriving in Paris in 1945, the young RAGON made friends. Among them were future painters whose talent and innovation he recognised. His shrewd eye detected the expressive power of today's renowned abstract and art brut artists, such as HARTUNG, DUBUFFET, SCHNEIDER and CHAISSAC. Author of a "Dictionnaire de l'Art vivant, de 1950 à 2000", Michel RAGON became an art critic and discoverer of new art. Benoit DECRON has had many opportunities to talk with him, and these encounters have fuelled today's conference.
