And yet, listening to Clara Ysé, with her words as a cavalcade, her verses as prophecy, her voice as it arcs from shadow to light, it’s as if the poem were incarnate. The singer-poet and her prodigious musicians lead us through a forest of unclassifiable symbols, borrowing and synthesising a variety of rhythms and myths. French chanson, epic polyphony, fusion, the singer balances between worlds, on the edge of words, and unites them in a powerful, spellbinding and generous show.
