Event description
Friendless, a penniless young drifter, takes a job on a farm. There he meets Brown Eyes, a cow destined for the slaughterhouse. This is the start of their adventures through the American West! Here, of course, we find an art that Keaton wields to marvellous effect: the discrepancy.
We expect him to fear the rattlesnake, but it’s the hares he’s afraid of; we expect him to be charged by the bulls, but he avoids them without even realising it; we expect him to want to marry the ranch owner’s daughter, but it’s the cow he wants. Our expectations are thwarted and the laughter comes, much to our delight as viewers!
This closing session will also be the opportunity to present the prizes for the sixth short film competition.
